Like ice and water and steam are the same chemical formula, God and Jesus and the Spirit are of the same substance: that is the mystery of the Trinity.
It is God who gives us our many different gifts, and it is God who calls us to use those gifts to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ. How can we get along together when we are so different? How can people with different experiences, and different expectations fit together as part of the same body?
We must also accept the mystery: God has called each one of us to this place, and each one of us has a role to play within this limb of the body of Christ. That is a given that we have to accept. And so, speaking the truth in love, we are called to grow together as we discover, celebrate, and share God’s love.
